SICES experience in landfill gas leads to patenting the purification and enrichement process

SICES experience in landfill gas leads to patenting the purification and enrichement process. This was then used in Malagrotta (Rome) project, the largest landfield plant in Europe, 5MW Biogas Gas Turbine.

We designed the first cogeneration plant in Italy (500 kW), with Garret gas turbine working in parallel with the mains in cooperation with Enel and FIAT.

SICES designed and built the first Landfill methane plant in Europe

1980
SICES designed and built the first Landfill methane plant in Europe (Malagrotta project in Rome) and at the same time the first genset supplied by biogas in parallel with the Mains (5 x 1250 kVA CAT Gensets). A unique complishment at the time due to engine technology limitations, the landfill gas had to be purified and enriched in methane content.
